What is NDIS?

The NDIS stands for the National Disability Insurance Scheme, which is designed to provide funds and support for people with disabilities living in Australia. This program was started by the Gillard Labour Government on the 1st of July in 2013, beginning with a trial called the NDIS Launch and then implemented in Australia on July in 2016.

NDIS was the first national scheme introduced by the Government of Australia for people with disabilities and is managed by the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA), which approves the payments for individualized support packages and creates individualized plans based on the requirements of participants. It helps over 500,000 Australians with disabilities by providing funding and support for the services they need.
